What is Masonry?

Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternity in the world. There are Masonic Lodges around the globe held together by the fraternal bond and ensures that we will find a friend and brother around every corner.

Freemasonry is a teacher, striving to turn good men into better men. It teaches us brotherhood, justice, morality, tolerance, freedom of ideas, freedom of religion, and how to improve society by improving ourselves. These are the principle tenents of Freemasonry.

To put it simply, Freemasonry is a way of life.

It is NOT a secret society. Like all fraternities, there is some secret retualistic work, but there are no secret aims or objectives as many believe.

Masonry is NOT a religion, though it is not inted as a subsitute for religion. However, Masonry does require that a man believe in God and all meetings are opened and closed witha prayer. The Holy Bible is open on the altar during all meetings, as the foundation of Masonry is the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man.
